Observing Mineral Flotation Processing Flow Situation

By observing the foam morphology, we can find out what is the situation of flotation.

In the flotation of copper and lead sulphide ores, the bubbles are mostly round, the bubbles of zinc sulphide ores are mostly elliptical, and the bubbles are also elliptical in the flotation of oxides.

When the mineralized foam is formed and the water is abundant, and the shapes of each bubble are quite distinct. When the foam stays on the pulp surface for a long time, the hydrophobicity of the mineral is large, and the drying of the foam wall is incomplete, the outline of the bubbles is blurred. In the molybdenum flotation dressing area, that foam is common, and the foam profile is blurred when the floating minerals are mixed.

The brittleness and viscosity of foam will affect floatation index in various degrees. Foam is too brittle. It is also commonly known as blisters. It has poor stability, easy to crack, and sometimes scratchy. When concentrate is rough in the bubble frame and more abundant in sulfide ores, the bubbles are often brittle. If the foam is too stable, it will cause the flotation machine to lose ores and destroy the normal flotation process, resulting in difficult transportation of concentrate. When the ore content is high, and the foaming agent is overloaded or the oil is accidentally leaked, the foam will be too stable. The sound of bubbles scraped by scrapers can also reflect the nature of mineralized foams. When the sound of bubbles scraped by scrapers is scratched, it is often shown that the foam contains a lot of minerals with larger density and coarser grain size.
