
Product Introduction
The Spiral Classifier is a key mineral processing machine used for grading solid particles in slurry based on differences in size and settling speed. It operates by allowing materials to settle at different rates in water. As the spiral rotates, coarse particles are lifted and discharged from the upper outlet, while fine particles flow out through the overflow pipe. This continuous process ensures clear separation of coarse and fine materials.
This equipment is commonly paired with a ball mill to form a stable closed‑circuit grinding system. It is also widely used for classifying ore sand and fine mud, separating particle sizes in beneficiation processes, and performing desliming, dehydration, and washing operations in mineral processing plants.
Spiral classifiers are available in single- and double‑spiral designs, as well as high‑weir and submerged types, offering flexibility for different process requirements. With a simple structure, reliable performance, and easy operation, the Spiral Classifier provides dependable grading for a wide range of mineral processing tasks.
Working Principle
The Spiral Classifier works on the principle that solid particles with different sizes and specific gravities settle at different speeds in liquid. Coarse and heavy particles settle faster and are pushed upward by the rotating spiral for discharge. Fine particles with slower settling rates overflow naturally from the top of the tank. This mechanism ensures efficient separation and grading of materials in a continuous flow.
