In the gravity separation plant, the shaking table is the most widely used and highly efficient sorting equipment for sorting fine-grained ores. Shaking bed beneficiation can not only be used as an independent beneficiation method, but also it is often combined with jigging, flotation, magnetic separation, centrifugal concentrator, spiral concentrator, belt chute and other beneficiation equipment.
Shakers have been widely used in the separation of tungsten, tin, tantalum, niobium and other rare metals and precious metal ores. In addition, it has also been widely used in the separation of manganese ore.
Before the advent of flotation, it was also used for the separation of metal ores. In the process of reselection of tungsten, according to statistics, about 30% to 80% of the concentrate is obtained by the shaker sorting. The particle size of the shaker is generally 2 to 0.37 mm when sorting tungsten and tin, but The lower limit of the selected particle size of the sludge shaker can reach 0.019 mm.
In production practice, because the shaker is used in conjunction with other equipment, it is mostly used to recover fine-grained minerals above 37 microns.

The main advantages of shaking table beneficiation are:
(1) The enrichment ratio of beneficiation is very high, up to 100 times or more;
(2) The final concentrate and abandoned tailings can be obtained after one sorting;
(3) Sometimes multiple products can be obtained at the same time according to needs;
(4) The zoning of minerals on the bed surface is obvious, so it is more convenient to observe, adjust and access.

The main disadvantages of shaing table beneficiation are:
(1) The processing capacity per unit area is low, and the plant area is large.
(2) The maximum capacity for processing coarse sand is no more than 5 tons per square meter per hour; when processing fine sludge, it is even only about 0.5 tons.
