Zimbabwe’s government aims to support small-scale miners as part of the expansion of its chrome industry, but investors are needed to supply capital for new mining operations and the upgrading of local processing capacity.

Speaking at the Chromium 2017 conference on Wednesday November 8 in Johannesburg, South Africa, Fred Moyo, deputy minister at the ministry of mines and mining development of Zimbabwe, said that land will be given to miners for new operations. "This amounts to 20,000 ha of land that will be given to small-scale miners.
