On 13rd Dec, 2018, What is concentrating, coursing, sweeping?
After primary separation, such as flotation, gravity separation, or magnetic separation, the gangue contained in the ore is selected, and the minerals higher than the original ore grade are obtained. They are called coarse concentrates, which generally fail to meet the requirements of concentrate quality. This process is called roughing operation.
The qualified concentrate can be obtained by re-dressing the coarse concentrate. This process is called concentrating operation. Sometimes it is necessary to concentrate crude ore several times before qualified concentrate can be obtained. The next operation is called primary, secondary and tertiary concentrate in turn.

Generally, the tailings of roughing also contain a certain amount of minerals for roughing purposes, which can not be used to be discarded as the final tailings, and need to be processed in the next step. This operation is called sweeping separation. In order to improve the metal recovery, it is sometimes necessary to sweep several times before the final tailings can be obtained.
