Vietnam has imposed five-year tariffs on Chinese and South Korean painted steel products after domestic producers said unfair pricing from overseas competitors caused them to shut down production lines.
Vietnam's Ministry of industry and Trade said in a statement on its website that it imposed an anti-dumping duty of 2.53% to 34.27% on steel products from China. A 4.71-19.25% anti-dumping duty is imposed on steel products from South Korea.
The tariff came into effect on October 24.
Last week, the Ministry of trade said that anti-dumping duties on some cold-rolled stainless steel products from China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan would be extended for five years from October 26.
Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. said Vietnam is continuing to impose 7.94% tariff on products from the company, while the import tariff of other Chinese exporters is 31.85%. The tariffs of Malaysian, Indonesian and Taiwanese steelmakers increased from 10.91% to 37.29%.
